The Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (CCEM) is a high-level meeting held every three years and is the most important forum for deliberation on the Commonwealth education and learning agenda and its relationship with other sustainable development priorities. The Commonwealth education conference has been taking place every three years since 1959, when the first meeting was held in Oxford. It is the second largest meeting organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat after the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting(CHOGM).

The Government of Kenya in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat will convene the 21st Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (21CCEM) in Nairobi, Kenya on 1-5 March 2021.

20 th Commonwealth Education Ministers Meeting
20 th Commonwealth Education Ministers Meeting was held in February 2018 in Nadi, Fiji, and brought together Commonwealth Education Ministers and senior government officials, stakeholders, educators and teachers and development partners under the theme of ‘Sustainability and Resilience: Can Education Deliver?’. The ministers shared knowledge and good practices and collaborated with other groups attending the parallel Integrated Partners’ Forum (IPF): Commonwealth student representatives, higher education leaders, civil society organisations and teachers’ groups.
